Competitive HEMA

In the past few years, competitive historical fencing has gained some degree of publicity. While the sport side of HEMA isn't our main training focus, many TSG members, including most of our instructors, compete regularly in local and international tournaments. We value competition as one training tool that helps hone certain aspects of the art we practice, while recognizing that all tools have their limitations. While competition is not required of our students and it's not a core part of our day-to-day training, we encourage members to consider competition as a means of forming connections with the wider HEMA community and as a way to test their skills under intense pressure.
